The club versus country debate just acquired a new meaning on Planet Fitba.
Now the people at the head of the SFA have a decision to make that they never thought that they would even have to consider.
There is a hierarchy of needs when it comes to the affairs of professional football.
The country always comes first.
FIFA will expect the SFA to uphold the writ of Planet Football.
In taking their association to court Rangers transgressed massively in the eyes of FIFA.
The world governing body will expect swift and sever retribution.
However, those FIFA boys don’t grasp that we are discussing “the Rangers” and that rules in Scotland are just really for all the other clubs.
Of course one of the people discussing this shambles should be enjoying this fine gardening weather.
The fact that Campbell Ogilvie is still in the building tells you all you need to know about the SFA.
If people in the blue half of Glasgow think this is a massive victory for their disgraced club I have a one word riposte:
“Sion”.

budbhoy – I have been thinking along the same lines as yourself. Lord Carloway surely wasn’t stupid enough to not notice that the SFA had dished out a sentence that didn’t even exist within their own wee rule book. I am totally convinced that it was a fly wee `deliberate mistake` on his part to open up a loophole that they could crawl into like snakes and try an escape. I wonder what Vincent Lunny is doing at the moment.

Really, really scunnered myself with all the nonsense. The powers that be must take severe action now. They could have just taken their medicine but no,not them! The only suitable punishment for the crime is expulsion.Their actions could now have implications for all of us if Uefa sanction the whole of scottish football. But do they care?? Aye right. They are simply a DISGRACE!!!

Hi All
I think we should all agree that Phil should send a E-mail to F.I.F.A and U.E.F.A about all our concerns regarding Glasgow Rangers, The SPL and The SFA as yesterday FIFA said that The SFA had not made them aware that a Member Club were taking them to a Civil Court, then maybe they have forgotten to Mention the Dual Contract situation ,that should be punished with nothing other than Total Termination of Glasgow Rangers from ALL levels of Professional Football
No more messing about Football Fans of all Clubs in Scotland, they have Openly broken all the rules and regulations of Football,Financial and Business Law they sit and Blame everyone else , they talk of receiving Punishment and harsh treatment for the sins of others
Sorry but they deserve everything that has come their way and that will come their way,we set rules and regulations to acquire standards in life and when we fall below these standards then we have to face the consequences so its time to face them.
Phil go get them with the blessing of all Scottish Football Fans

This is the defining moment, both in football terms and in business terms for Rangers.
All is now out in the open, there is no hiding place.
The SFA must make a clear and unequivocal decision NOW.
HMRC must see through this ‘scam’ CVA, which has been drawn up and designed to fail, and now really go after Rangers’ assets. Ticketus will most probably accept the CVA, as they are more concentrated on court action against Whyte and will use the CVA, even when it fails, to back up their court claim, that they took all measures to mitigate the loss.
Finally, on another point. I am some times taken to task on this forum by, and I make no excuse for it, my assertion that an independent Scotland would do our ‘kind’ no favours.
Let me refer you to George Galloway’s piece in the DR today – quote:
“And when things get worse in our country as a result, in time we’d look around for someone to blame.
Who knows who the finger of suspicion would be pointed at? Maybe Scottish Roman Catholics from Irish immigrant stock, with their peculiar ways, names and schools. Why not? It’s happened before, Comrade Canavan, hasn’t it? I am not a “Unionist”, I don’t think they’d accept me into that club”

The SFA face the nuclear option here, they must punish RFC severely with likely outcome, RFC in present form will cease to exist. Otherwise, FIFA punish the SFA and Scottish Football as a whole. No International football or European football. At that point I would predict civil war in the Scottish Football world with countless rounds of litigation.
Wonder how Peter Lawell will feel if Celtic are banned from playing in Europe because of RFCs arrogance and blatant disregard for all of Scottish Football!
Either way RFC cease to exist! Simples! Easy decision there to be made.
I would ask Mr Regan to grow a set and do what he knows is the right thing to do!
As you say Phil in earlier posts, the big and only winners in this are D&P, to the tune of £5.5 mill! Agendas????

I am not so sure this wasn’t a victory for Scotland’s bigots.
The SFA have always been part and parcel of what some refer to as the “establishment” – not a term I favour because it appears to give them an undue air of respect when they are all just blindly pro protestantism and largely, a shower of the most bigotted, and abhorrent people.
All the main powers in Scotland will always do all they can to look after their blue trash. Surely we all know this by now?
I can just hear the arseholes who call themselves the SFA making the initial judgment, (and someone in Lord Carloways postion didn’t know the punishment was not enforceable? Aye right!) –
“Our (SFA) rules say we should throw out our beloved disease ridden Fc, but obviously we cant do that. So lets give them a punishment outwith our jurisdiction which will be quickly quashed in the court of session. Then we can say that at least we tried and our prodigal club survive relativeley unscathed – the MSM will be right behind us and our Toxic Theifs FC as always. Most footballing types are too gullable to see through this, and most of those who will see through it will be the taigs and they dont matter anyway.”
I can’t see Uefa or Fifa giving a flying f*ck about our insignificant xenophobic little nation.

Been quitetly watching this drama from afar, all i will comment on is that the blame will be wrongly placed at EUFA and FIFA’s door when the Scotish National team are barred from participating in international games.
A big thanks to the SFA for killing the joint bid for Ireland/Wales/Scotland holding the Euros. That is the shame here Platini and Blatter will demand their pound of flesh for the bold face cheek that was the court case. Potentially say goodbye to the homenations as seperate entities in world football, say goodbye to the money as the CL & EuroCup places are stripped from Scottish Football. They say £8.4 mill to a cva as the loan and £100k as prefered status but take out what D&P will be owed when this debacle is over and what the running costs are thru june and july and you will see fek all for creditors. D&P hang your head in shame..!
The only benefit to creditors is a proper asset sale and liquidation raising a much larger amount even according to Green so do the maths….
D&P will own part of Rangers as will Green and Rangers will have nothing except two landlords eager to make a buck for many years to come, if/when they get a license to play football and get some players in, ‘cos they will go asap to the highest bidder. Fire sale at Ibrox thru the Summer all proceed to D&P/Green… Doomsday! Moral of the story do not sell out to vulture capitalists…

The SFA are stupid, but I’m not convinced they’re THAT stupid.
If the SFA are stupid enough to fail to punish RFC(IA) it will give FIFA the excuse to finally remove the anomaly of the ‘Home countries’ who have no right to exist as separate footballing entities. In a wider context, FIFA expel the SFA, and thus end Catalunya’s claim for equal status. There are 6 or 7 first pick spanish internationals who’d be eligible to play for Catalunya if they ever won their fight to get what the SFA thinks is a god- given right.

FIFA have advised SFA to give RFC further punishment for taking SFA to court of session instead of court of sporting arbitration. Now, things could get very interesting! Surely to god, FIFA applying the squeeze should ensure the proper outcome.

Take a bow, Sam Stone. You have nailed it. Money talks and decent supporters all over the country must make it talk for them. It is better to lose a little for a while than to lose the lot for ever. That is the road Scotland could very easily go down if that club and those who would sacrifice anyone or anything to try to save it are given sway or probably more likely, go their way.

This current situation will tell us all we need to know about how deep the ‘brotherhood’ stuff goes. If UEFA/FIFA don’t act and ensure that this level of corruption unprecedented in Scottish footballing history is not severely punished in a way that is appropriate then the game really is up and a marker will have been put down for any other deluded souls out there who think that Rangers* will ever be measured by the same rules as all the rest of European football. Their name will be forever a euphemism for sacrosanct and corruption. After all what has to be done by the SFA is not complicated even if they are trying to make it appear so. Its quite simple. SUSPEND THEM FOR FIVE YEARS THEN LET THEM RE APPLY TO THE THIRD DIVISION. ANYTHING LESS IS CORRUPTION.

The BBC have just reported that our SFA have failed to inform FIFA that Rangers(IA) have taken legal action against the SFA.
I am not saying that FIFA did not know regardless but the point is it was the SFA`s duty to inform FIFA that a participating club was in the process taking legal action against Scottish Footballs Governing body.
For whatever reason, the SFA consciously and deliberately failed in their duty when they point blank refused to keep FIFA officially informed.

Dear Phil,
are these people mad? They were given the lesser of three evils, take fine/sanctions or be suspended or even expelled. Now their hubris has brought the whole of Scottish football into international danger.
The SFA threw out the rule book to help these morons in a severe but sympathetic manner to help keep revenue coming into Rangers through SPL football, but this is not good enough.
The SFA must find the rule book and throw it good and hard. No less than Scottish football is at serious risk if UEFA or even FIFA have to get themselves involved.
Even the SPL suck up clubs must realise the precarious situation that Rangers going to the courts has left everyone in. It’s like something out of ‘Dr Strangelove’ mutually assured destruction.
If they are going down or out they hope to inflict as much damage as possible.
We are now in a scenario where no Scots clubs will get the lucrative European games, no International football. Let’s hope the SFA start using the big stick,

Apparently RFC fans have had a good day today.
Superficially this would look correct. The CVA process looks to have begun, and the winning of the COS hearing combined with the subsequent positive media attention/spin will give cause for hope in the blue households of the city.
But what does all this mean? Nothing has really changed except maybe for the selling of RFC season tickets, which I think is the only thing that today affects.
The CVA will fail. The big tax case will be upheld or appealed even if lost by HMRC. The history will be gone and perhaps most importantly a big light will be shone on a wee racist corner of the globe, the most telling of all outcomes ( in my opinion) Fifa and Uefa will have a deep look and the SFA will have to account for their reluctance. So fellow Celts do not panic. The only thing to fear is fear itself.
Keep at them Phil they don’t yet know what they have just done. Soon however… …

The lame arguments about the survival of Busted Flush FC that have been hawked around every available phone in and MSM column inch by “the powers that be” and succlulent lamb brigade are now even more redundant and baseless than before.
No one can possibly argue that there even is a greater good to be served if it comes at the expense of the national teams participation in the qualification phases of major tournaments.
