The downfall of Rangers has been a very challenging event for the rulers of the game in Scotland.
The people at the top of Scottish football are privately admitting that they have been making it up as they’ve gone along.
The quasi legal nonsense of the 11th hour fudge is excellently analysed here by Paul McConville.
There are currently two Rangers.
One is an SPL club in administration, awaiting liquidation.
That club has existed for 140 years, but it won’t make it to 141.
The other is Sevco Scotland Limited which is being allowed to style itself as Rangers.
Sevco purchased the assets of RFC (IA) for £5.5m.
This sale may yet be challenged legally once the liquidators BDO are on the field of play.
It is clear that the sale of the “heritable assets” (stadium, training ground and car park) for £1.5m was a transaction that could be characterised as “under value”.
The people in leadership positions on the 6th floor at Hampden are well aware of these issues.
Yet the rulers of Planet Fitba are wedded to the Ibrox brand and no matter what, the freak show must go on.
That is why today at 3.05pm a club pretending to be Rangers will play Brechin in the Ramsden’s Challenge Cup.

Personally I think Neil Lennon should pick up the phone to Gerald Butler for the 2nd instalment of Law abiding citizen and bring down the whole corrupt temple right on there heads!!!!Have to say to see all these so called Rangers heroes squirming in defiance of a lost cause a lost club a lost identity has been insurmountable pleasure and when BDO get in let the real games begin!!

For Frankier,
they were sporting Tennent’s under the old RFC logo and the majority on the bench were plastered with Tennent’s advertising, on sports tops etc., which made me wonder what went on in the temporary licence meeting. It doesn’t matter whether or not they are allowed to use the old r”ngers’ name it will always come under that putrid name by the media and support alike. Even Lennon needs to be educated on this and (especially) on the other horrible tag of “The Old Firm”. I cringe every time a so-called Celtic fan, player or manager uses this collective description. It looks like they will be back in the SPL again next year anyway and it will be back to square one. It would be easier to abolish world hunger and poverty than it would be to get rid of this mob. They may be dead but they won’t lie down. There is no doubt that a deal has been done to let them into the top flight next year by way of another masonic plot under the guise of “reconstruction”. How can you reconstruct by using the same old tuppence ha’penny teams? It is obvious that when they can sign ex SPL players, albeit useless ones, on four/five year deals and SKY TV deals can be agreed within a matter of days that this bigoted mob have been assured that they will only be one year in the wilderness. It won’t be long now until the Tennents logo is back on the jerseys along with the sectarian red-topped stockings and that will complete the administration/liquidation process. As for Hector the taxman, he certainly s”hit in the nest and I refuse to believe he wasn’t in on the act also.

I agree mate. I really hate it when I hear the ‘old f##m’ especially as you say someone from our side. I would love it if Celtic did everything in their power to distance themselves by acquiring separate shirt sponsorship deals and always referring to the Huns by their new name. I would also look into moving to the English leagues again on our own. I think we would be a better prospect on our own. I also think there will be something in the pipeline to fast track them back to the SPL. It will be as if nothing has happened. Selective memory in a few years time will be rife in Scotland.. But we will not let them forget ever. We have our unbroken history and we operate within the rules of he game.

Dear Frankier,
they were advertising Tennants just below RFC logo on shirts and all the staff on the bench had Tennants plastered across their tracksuit tops, sorry to say. I can’t remember this phrase in French, but it goes along the lines, ” the more things change the more things stay the same.”

Iain,
small but very profound point.
The most successful club in the world has had the life support machine turned off & will soon be dead.
Their history has come to an end. No more trophies can be added to the old club’s history.
There is a new club, whose name was changed today from sevco 5088 (or sevco Scotland depending on your point of view) to “the rangers football club ltd”.
Their history? played one game, won one game.
THAT’S THE CLUB DEAN SHIELS HAS JOINED SIR!!!!

Perhaps an interesting barometer of just how “new” Rangers are going forward will be the amount of times our gracious host decides to write pieces on this “new” 3rd division side in the coming months?

Hugh Keevinz and his chumz regularly tarred all Celtic fans as “paranoid” LIVE on Radio Clyde and elsewhere while he would say and write as though all this “nonsense” was as a result of a “them against us” — a — “Celtic v Rangers” thing !
Celtic fans have always insisted it was NEVER so and that it was in fact Rangers v The Rest of Scottish Football.
However, that didn`t sit well with all those who wanted to tar all Celtic fans as paranoid as that would then make their claims of paranoia have to stretch and cover ALL football fans throughout Scotland except those who supported the Ibrox club.
And that would just look stupid, daft and ridiculous.
Recently however, the scandalous claims regularly regurgitated by the likes of Hugh Keevinz and chumz has been forced down their throats backwards by nearly every other club chairman and fan of Scottish football when10 out of 12 SPL clubs and their chairmen voted to kick Rangers out.
That was quickly follow-followed by the SFL clubs (25 out of 30 ) , their chairmen and fans speaking out and demanding that if exRangers are to be shown favours by the SFA then those favours must begin in SFL3.
SCOTTISH FOOTBALL FANS AND CLUBS SPOKE WITH ONE VOICE.
That collective and booming voice said———— SFA … NO ! ……..
Thus far and NO further.

Phil or anyone else could maybe answer this? What do you reckon the wage structure would be at the newco? Why would players want to sign for a 3rd division club from the SPL, which makes you they’ll pay good wages, it makes you think they’ll be mounting good challenges for the Scottish cup, League cup.etc, I know they’ve signed Ian Black from the SPL, and there will be more players wanting to sign.

I can’t believe I didn’t realise before! We’ve all got this bigotry quote from Charles Green the wrong way round. Of course bigotry played a role in the newco being consigned to Div 3, the bigotry of the fans of the oldco itself.
Why the hell would a fan of any other team in Scotland possibly want to put up with those violent, racist, right wing thugs when with just a simple application of those crazy old rules and a sense of fair play they could be put where they belong (for now)?

I can only hope that EVEN SFA patience is running out after Green’s wonderfully ironic “bigotry” claim. It’s been a while since the freak show made me double take, but that was a belter!
This desparate attempt to get more knuckle draggers on board (in order to sell season tickets) illustrates that CG now recognises what we all know, that this lowlife element makes up the majority of their support and is vital to their survival, in any form.

Phil what do you think of the comments of Mr Green priot to Sevcos game at Brechin today?
July 29, 2012 at 9:58 pm
The Wallace
Although I’ve thought that Charles Green was a little touched or up to something, I was slowly coming round to the idea that he was just a business man who had bitten off more than he could chew and was doing his best. However his statement about bigotry being one of the reasons his club (or is it his club yet?) were kicked out the SPL, has upset that apple-cart. It has been Rangers (whoever they were) men who have been constantly pulling the rug from under his feet. Even his manager has stabbed him in the back at least once. Duff and Phelps have not helped his efforts either. His accusation that clubs were put under pressure by their fan bases is correct, but it was done that fair play could be seen to be done, for the love of goodness even his own fan base wanted the appropriate action to be taken. This cynical statement is only being put out there to appeal to the lowest common denominator of the fans of his club to rally round and whip up some more season ticket money. I hope he is brought to book over this needless comment. The fans of certain teams, who I have always thought of as rangers supporters without the bus fare, were amongst the first to tell their boards how they felt.
Mr Green’s keeping the wrong company, I fear and aiding the wrong mindset of oldco to bubble to the top. I do hope he apologises as this remark is out of keeping with the impression I had of the man.

I’ve always wondered why the sale of the assets were so little, I also imagined that the HMRC had the power to demand the assets to enable them to recover the loss from the unpaid taxes( final judgement still to be made). Would Newco be liable in some way if an investigation by the HMRC showed that the Oldco/Duff and Phelps sold the assets to Newco with the tax judgement still pending. Because obviously they are well under the value, even in today’s climate of recession. I still think there is a lot more drama to come out of this story, more dodgy dealings, more lies and more of Sally’s tantrums. Also the MSM’s inability to tell the whole story instead of pandering to the hordes. Still calling Newco ranjurs, talking of relegation to 3rd Division and the governing bodies having it in for them. You only have to read Graham Spiers in today’s Sunday Herald, back page. There is a guy who says it as it is and tells the right story, but he is hounded by the Oldco and Newco (can I call them) fans.. Keep it coming Phil, I’m loving and despairing all at the same time.

This has only happened because the SFA have no clear role of championing sporting integrity. Had that been their prime job TV contacts that undermine it would have been turned down and the whole business model that undermines such integrity would not have got off the ground.
The SFA are in a mess because they do not know what their job is and instead of a clear separation between them and the SPL in terms of who is responsible for what and who actually has the final say, we have an entwinement of commercial interests with integrity that like a weed, have choked integrity.
Replacement not reform of the SFA is now essential.
The team Sevco fielded today must cost £90K a week in wages, how does the Greene business plan support such expenditure? What assumptions does it contain and if quick promotion is key, how can that plan be accepted without undermining the integrity of the SFL competition?
July 29, 2012 at 3:12 pm
Ignoranceisnodefence
Phil, this farce continues to produce story lines that make those by Hans Christian Andersen appear like Tomes of fact.
The complicity of the SFA et al in trying to save this club and their history though rule bending, breaking and ignoring is scandalous.
How can any one buy the assets of a ‘liquidated’ company and then continue to sell itself as one and the same….in total disregard of the Insolvency Act?
How can this ‘Newco’ also lay claim to payments due to the OLDCO from the SPL? … surely these should be going to the creditors.
How can the NEWCO negotiate with the SFA et al regarding investigations, punishments, title stripping regarding the OLDCO?
Why indeed are the SFA et al allowing this charade to continue?
What action will the SFA take regarding the comments from Mr McCoist?
One final point re the timing of the statements released by those involved….strangely coincidental that it was done at a time when most observers would be looking towards the Olympic opening ceremony…..A place in government will surely beckon once they leave their offices in Scottish football.

For the life of me i cant understand why the SFA are bending over backwards for this zombie club. While the financial argument can be made, surely the much used”sporting integrity” counter argument is much more important. After McCoists latest rant you might think they would be glad to see the back of this cheating, conniving club. The endless “we have been punished enough” mantra is laughable in the extreme. The truth of it is if they had been punished to the rules of the game they would be scrabbling around the junior leagues looking for entry.Millions owed, yet they can, reportedly, pay Ian Black 7k per week in the third division! For a long time now it has seemed to me that this is a debt shedding exercise being aided by a complicit SFA.

Has anyone asked the SFA who holds the players registrations?
If oldco then they are cannot play in SFL competitions.
If newco and being paid by oldco, then illegal third party payments come into play.
If they are with newco, how and when were they registered with the SFA and SFL?
The reason for asking is that Black and Little cannot be registered until Friday when they get SFA membership, why is that, is it because newco cannot register any players?
