Perhaps it is EBTs, perhaps PMTs or just a mild case of the DTs, but the word of the week around the ‘Big Hoose’ is:

Tetchy…

Yes, very tetchy…

You could even say, very, very tetchy.

With season ticket sales going faster than, than…  well faster than last week, this bad atmosphere is a tad puzzling.

Could it be that Ranger’s rabble-rouser in chief is not happy with the prospect of tainted titles and corrupt cups disappearing?

Or perhaps the Cheeky Chappie is not happy with personal contract talks?

Mr Green indicated publically he desired a publicity coup by tying-up the rabble rouser with a new long term contract; he mentioned 25 years.  However, the Sevco manager is reluctant to sign-up for the long haul; the Green Mile could be several faltering steps too far for Mr McCoist

Interesting that we haven’t seen any recent TV or media images of Sevco’s only ever manager and Mr Green.

Tetchy indeed. But let’s get back to the drama at the Park!

Sitting in the Sevco’s director’s box at Brechin last Sunday, back row, far left, was Mr Green’s new bestest best friend, one Jim Park, a former management executive at the Daily Record and Sunday Mail Ltd, he left the publishing house several years ago under a rather dark, foreboding cloud.

His business interests since then have been a shade uninspiring.

Perhaps Mr Green is unhappy that it is common currency in newspaper circles that Mr Park has been a close confidante of another fellow who attracts dark menacing clouds wherever he goes.

Yes, you guessed it, the one and only Craig Whyte.

Has Craig Whyte left the park, or is Jim Park Craig Whyte’s man at Ibrox Park?

Whither the Middlesbrough FC situation? Their oldco was liquidated in 1986, but do they claim to be the club that was formed in 1876?

  • k

I’m Craig park will the real Craig park please stand up~!!!

BDO and the taxman are all too late now. It doesn’t matter what decisions they come up with there is no money left in the pot and the thieves have ben allowed to slip away unscathed. That is modern, masonic, bigoted Scotland for you.
I refuse to believe that no one in HMRC services spotted the fact that Whyte was withholding the employees tax and NIC deductions. Surely these should have been paid on a monthly basis if not sooner. And why has no one asked any of the above mentioned employees what amount was shown as being paid by them on their P60s or P45s at the end of that financial year? Surely there must be a record of them having paid no tax or NIC for the year that the, seemingly legal, thieving that was going on. I would advise anyone not to hold their breath if they are waiting on BDO or the taxman to come down hard on them. It would be like flogging a dead goat.

    • Brenda

Has anyone seen any proof that all football debts etc have been paid before sevco got their full SFA licence? And were all player registrations filled in and dated properly?? This shambles gets stinkier by the day clear-out required at hampden ……… Is CO still being paid?

  • Bill

    Bring on BDO

The sooner the liquidating force of BDO get their forensic teeth into this mess, the better. HMRC have yet to play their ace card and I somehow can’t see them “walking away”. Chapter 1 is over; keep reading folks as there is much more to come.

  • 262 KubN

The use of EBTs is not illegal. Celtic, other clubs and companies, including multi-national corporations, have used them and lost their tax tribunals; the RTC is about the failure to operate PAYE. We always said “our day will come”. It did; so will theirs; probably by November. No one likes them, “they don’t care”; they care now. We all know what they’re up to they’re up to their knees (or necks) in now. F them.

  • Big Mac

Oh dear. I worked at the Daily Record at the same time that Messers Jim Park and Liam Kane took over. Let’s just say that if Mr Park is involved with Sevco that this will not end well for Gers fans. Without mentioning anything that will get this comment left in moderation I will sign off with the following randomly selected words which in no way are related to any of the above comments.
Petty cash. Casino. Champagne. Trail of destruction. Totally useless. Angry. Very, very angry. Napoleon complex. Disaster. Career destroyer.

Elvis has left the building, but Mr Whyte is hiding under the stairs, while Mr Park is cleaning the windows with yesterdays Daily Ragcord and a dash of vinegar.

    Just a thought,
Maybe Rangers is the nickname of The Rangers FC, and we’re just not getting it.
    Tee hee,

  • tambutnotbam

If they are not Rangers why are they allowed to call themselves Rangers and with the full support and backing of Scotlands Footballing Governing bodies so to do ?

  • Men in funny peenies, in high places, making strange decisions, for the ESTABLISHMENTS CLUB, what a strange country. I live in the toronto area & I don’t think something like this would be very well accepted in the sporting community NHL, CFL, NFL, NBA, it just goes to show the clout that SEVCO have within the LEGAL SYSTEM as well as the SFA & THE SPL, don’t be one bit surprised to see another round of shenanigans about fast tracking our shady govan brethren at some time in the near future, after all they still are RANGERS, HAIL HAIL & god bless wee neil lennon the only decent coach in scottish football

  • taxi for ally goin’ fur a swally tee-hee

  • Miller John

People that go on about some form of’continuation’of Rangers, don’t fully understand the concept of what liquidation actually means, for a start the club Rangers FC is in the process of being wound up,and a completely brand new football club was established,Phil used Brad Pitt as an example, which i think was wrong as Mr Pitt is still alive and well,I thought Elvis or Frank Sinatra was a more appropriate analogy.Sevco at best can be described as a phoenix company.
At the end of the day,it really doesn’t matter how you cut it up, the corporate business and the football business cannot be seperated, who paid the wages ? who sold the tickets, who did the hiring and firing ?,you cant have one without the other, the business is about a football enterprise.
I can understand why the Rangers fans refuse to accept the oldco as being dead, ofcourse they would, but they are,a good journo if given free open access to ask the questions to the SPL SFA SFL UEFA and FIFA could very easy establish the oldco are dead, would not be difficult.

  • Brian

Naturally the “wikipedia” page of the former football club ‘Rangers FC’ has been the subject of much debate. Apparently Wikipedia themselves have had to step in and lock the page down with a message being displayed that due to ongoing disputes, nobody is allowed to modify it. However, it is interesting to see who exactly Wikipedias legal team believe owns Rangers FC!

  • Lenny Bhoy

Charlie Green is really more Charlie Endell at this rate.

  • weeandybhoy

    KP pal,

Take a wee closer look at the link you provided.

    Yes it say SFL.

Yes it shows the league newco are playing in.

Yes it shows the competitions newco are playing in this season.

And yes it shows all the kits rangers fc were playing in for 2011-12!!!!

Think someone has been cut & pasting without getting all the info correct.

    Keep deluding!!!!

    • KP

Not really sure what your point is apart from the fact the Rangers strips havn’t been updated. This represents the SFLs record books in terms of date founded and trophies won.

  • And exactly where is the Shugster these days,eh!
Nae sign of him at CP,banned perhaps….good.

  • futureman

    @ KP
Not the case, oldco`s membership gets tranferred to DUNDEE,not to sevco 5088,

    • dc77

@futureman, I think it was the SPL share that was transferred to Dundee, not the SFA membership..

  • Ralf

Dont know if you could shed any light on this Phil, but heard tonight on radio that other football clubs having been using EBT’s including Celtic. On a Saturday im interested in Celtic, i think there are problems in that there doesnt seem to be any new players being signed, i thought there would be signings before the Champions league qualifiers, I thought Celtic struggled the other night against Helsinki, I dont think the Finland’s top league is of a high standard, with the away goal being scored, why are Celtic struggling against a team from a mediocre league, there are obvious problems at Celtic as well.

    • Jim Wood

I spy with my little eye a fifth columnist.

    • Neil

      Ralph,

Maybe because the Finnish team are 18 games into their domestic game!!!

Celtic did have an EBT for the wee Brazilian, but paid it up in full to the tax man, unlike others who now sleep with the dinosaurs.

      KTF

    • Ben mcginlay

Apparently Celtic considered it but were advised by Brian Quinn to give them a wide berth.

    • Phil Mac Giolla Bhain

    • Ben mcginlay

Are you just interested in Celtic, are you not a fan then ? I was at the game and I thought Celtic played some good football and should have got a few more goals. On the players coming in, it’s already been stated that champions league qualification will depend on new signings being made. I disagree with the obvious problems bit too. I think you are a closet Hun.

  • Padraig K

Birds of a feather and all that. Incidentally Phil have you heard how the legal action against the bbc, which was threatened by both Whyte and D & P is going?

  • Ben mcginlay

Curiouser and curiouser, the plot thickens once again. Think Sally will be lucky to survive the season. Watty was on the TV earlier lauding the Sevco manager saying how much he has to cope with! Also had a wee dig at the authorities as regards to stripping titles. I think they all know the inevitable is in the post. Stripping titles is not a punishment, they will be given to whoever came second or were beaten finalists. The punishment will come after(if guilty) and should be in accordance with the severity of the crime. Hope this independent inquiry do their job right, still don’t understand why they are the ones to decide the punishment if guilty. Thought that would be the under the football authorities remit.

  • joe macdougall

Brilliant!, looking forward to the day they lose their titles etc gained by cheating. That really would mean “taxi for McCoist” time.

  • yogibhoy

when asked the question on “off the ball”,”do you think craig whyte is still in the background?”,that amBASSAdor of all things oldco ,andy cameron , replied “definately”.
it’s only when an independant body gets tore into this mess will the facts be known.
the one i’m looking forward too is souness’ £30,000 bung for the tugay deal .interesting times ahead .

  • droid

Well, that’s cheered me up after the closing of the RTC site today!

  • Kaboom Phil…….didn’t notice his presence last week…….this is getting tasty now….stay away from the Park…….Chuckie Green is being set up here big time.

  • Eddie Dunne

They cant shake the presence of Whyte or Ticketus. I believe that it is common knowledge that the circles these people move in means they are almost always mixed up with each other. You can pick any 2 of the participants in the RFC (IA) debacle and you will not have to look to heard to see a past connection. D&P, Charles Green, Craig Whyte, Ticketus,Octopus, Blue Pitch Holdongs, Imran Ahmed etc, etc, etc. All have an intertwined past history with each other. The biggest carve up this little country has ever seen carried out in the full glare of a submissive and compliant MSM not to mention a corrupt and inept SFA.

  • Ian N

It has all been very quiet of late; I thought because we now had football being played, and that perhaps the “gift” had “stopped giving”. Oh no, how daft of me – there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight to their troubles. Maybe we’ll see Bomber being sparked-up again? After tomorrow we won’t see Celtic at CP for a while so I’d welcome the next round of Sevco disasters being revealed!

  • KP

The official governing bodies in Scottish football recognise that this is a continuation the the same club due to the transfer of the SFA membership:

    http://www.scottishfootballleague.com/club/rangers-fc/

    • Ben mcginlay

I think you will find that will change when the oldco go into full administration. That whole process has not been finalised yet. Also the Newco were allowed to use the oldco license to keep membership status. Another break that was not mentioned in the MSM.

    • Ben mcginlay

Sorry, typo I meant liquidation not administration.

    • KP

Not the case, the clubs SFA membership has been transferred from the ‘oldco’ to the ‘newco’.

The liquidation of the ‘oldco’ will have no relevance as the SFA membership has been permenantly transferred to the ‘newco’. Therefore, the official records of the SFA will view this as a continaution of Rangers Football Club.

    • SamBrowneBelt

KP, suppose the SFA membership had been transferred to Spartans: would Spartans have become Rangers? could Spartans claim to have been the club who won 40-odd leagues (I’m allowing for the known tainted titles to be stripped)?

Could Spartans claim to be the club whose “fans” have wrecked umpteen cities across the UK and Europe?

Could Spartans claim the title of A Permanent Embarrassment and an Occasional Disgrace?

      Think about it …

    • ScotPatsFan

The tenous links that the fans of oldRFC/Sevco/newRFC are trying to create in order to retain their history are pretty desperate now.
Do they think we forget the trials and tribulations of gaining a CVA?
Why the CVA? Because in the words of MrGreen, liquidation would follow and the club’s history would be ‘swept away’.
Do they think that UEFA will bow down to Chuck’n'Ally’s tubthumping when the coefficient of Sevco/NewRFC is given as zero.

    • KP

The transfer of the SFA membership means that is is the same club in the eyes of the SFA, the official body running Scottish football.

Spartans would receive a new SFA registration. I don’t see what your other points are apart from mentioning unsavoury incidents involving Rangers fans.

I could bring up Mark Walters racist abuse, songs supporting terrorist organisations, Hugh Dallas being hit with a coin etc. That wouls be going slightly off topic, wouldn’t it?

    • SamBrowneBelt

KP, sorry you can’t see the relevance of my points but, given the content of your other posts and your “off topic” references, it’s hardly surprising. I’ll simplify: the membership could have been transferred to any club, it doesn’t mean that club would become Rangers; nor would that club be able to claim that they were the old Rangers continued.

    • KP

Very patronising and unneccesary. I understand the point you were attempting to get across i.e. if the membership was transferred to e.g. Spartans they could lay claim to Rangers history. The irrelevance was your bringing up fans behaviour while discussing the transfer of historical achievements on the pitch.

At the end of the day, we can discuss whether this is a new or the same club but in the SFAs record books it will view this as a continuation.

If Spartans wanted to buy Rangers membership they could in theory say they have the history of Rangers but that would be ridiculous. A bit like you attempting to gain intellectual gravitas while discussing football.

For whats its worth, Airdrie Utd bought Clydebanks SFA membership and don’t claim the history.

    • KP

The attempts to achieve a CVA were to avoid demotion to the 3rd Division and not being able to play in Europe for 3 years as the company would not be able to provide 3 years of audited acounts. Further, a significant number of Rangers best players left for free despite having several years left on their contracts due to TUPE regulations.

The above factors were more important that any potential loss of history which has been declared a red herring due to SFA membership transfer.

As for Charles Greens comments, they were in response to Dave King urging HMRC to reject the CVA due to his mistrust of him. The loss of history line was an attempt by Charles Green to rile the fans against Dave King rather than any geniune belief of a fresh start.

The guy will say anything to attempt to get the fans onside and sell season tickets as seen by his ludicrous ‘bigotry’ statement last weekend.
